Summer Camps at Scenic City Equestrian

June 3-7: Jumping Camp

This camp is designed to help you improve your hunt seat jumping skills while meeting and having fun with other like-minded people.

Age: Any

June 10-14: Horsemanship Camp

This camp is for anyone 12 years or older who wants to learn more about connecting with, handling, caring for, and teaching horses. Perfect for those with no experience AND for seasoned riders who want to step out of the saddle and improve their foundational skills with horses.

Registration Form - Horsemanship Camp

June 17-21: IEA Prep Camp

IEA stands for Interscholastic Equestrian Association. It is an organization that exists to improve horsemanship and support sportsmanship among school-aged riders. They have competitions in Western, Dressage, and Hunt Seat Disciplines for kids from the 4th grade through to the 12th. Their competition seasons run through the school year.

This camp is meant for riders in middle and high school who are either hoping to join an IEA Team or who just want to learn more about IEA.

We will have an exhibition show at the end of this camp and try-outs for Scenic City's own IEA Team will be held shortly thereafter.

Age: 12 - 18 (middle - high school)

June 24-28: Junior Horse Camp

This camp is for any and all horse-loving kids! They will be learning basic horse handling and care as well as a little riding. Perfect for those with no experience as well as those who have had some experience before. Strong emphasis on fun with horses.

July 8-12: Drill Team Camp

Mounted Drill Teams have entertained crowds all around the world. At it's highest levels it requires a mastery of horsemanship and extremely precise riding. This camp is desigend to be an introduction to basics of the discipline of Drill Team. We will work on patterns and learning what it takes to condition and manuever your horse to perform in a drill team routine.

We will finish out the week with a short performance of a routine learned. Should be fun for all ages.

July 15-19: Gymkhana Camp

Gymkhana is a collection of mounted games. This camp is all about the fun we can have with horses. There will be a variety of games and patterns learned throughout the week and then a little friendly competition between the campers at the end of the week. Great for anyone with moderate riding and horse-handling skills.

July 22-26: Rodeo Camp

This camp is for high school rodeo enthusiasts. We will learn about the events in rodeos and the skills needed to participate in them. Whether you have had any experience with rodeo events in the past or are just curious to try some new things, this is the right camp for you.

We will have an exhibition to show off what was learned at the end of the week.

Age: 14-18
